New 400 Series Skid
Steers Available At West Hills Tractor, Inc.
RACINE, Wis. – Farmers and ranchers looking
for the right skid steer to handle their
most demanding jobs, now have a new,
powerful product line to turn to in Case 400
Series skid steers.
Available in five radial- and three
vertical-lift models that range from 49 to
82 net horsepower, the 400 Series features
maximum rated operating loads from 1,500 to
3,000 pounds. These new models also feature
an extra-heavy-duty design,
high-productivity engines, improved
reliability and efficiency, and ease of
service.
“Select Case IH dealerships will offer their
customers construction-grade performance
from their sister brand,” says Rusty
Schaefer, marketing manager, Case
Construction Equipment. “These all-new 400
Series models maintain the strong Case
engine heritage, with improved reliability
and increased performance features.”
Great engines made better
In addition to Tier II
certification, the large-displacement,
high-torque, long-life engines in the 400
Series skid steers provide quiet, smooth
power for productive operation. The entire
line can make easy work of everyday tasks,
whether it’s cleaning stalls or clearing
snow around the farmyard.
The entry-level Case 410, as well as the 430
and 445 models use naturally aspirated,
4-cylinder diesel engines, while the 420,
440, 450 and 465 offer turbocharged,
4-cylinder diesel engines. The 435 uses a
3-cylinder, turbocharged engine.
In addition, the Case 430, 440, 445, 450 and
465 feature a 95-amp alternator for reliable
starts. A new grid heater option is also
available for cold-weather starting.
Radial-piston drive motors offer greater
traction, improved reliability and
efficiency.
A new cooling system that provides balanced
cooling to both the engine and hydraulics,
coupled with improvements made to the
auxiliary hydraulics, have increased the
reliability of all models.
Ergonomic design, ease of operation
With an eye towards improving
operator comfort and enhancing productivity,
the 400 Series designers delivered both in
an easy-to-operate package. The new
machines are equipped with low-effort,
servo-hydrostatic controls that reduce
fatigue during operation. In addition,
visibility to the bucket is improved with
the repositioning of instrumentation to the
right upright post.
Models 430 and above feature a factory-ready
cab with optional air conditioning, as well
as an ergonomically positioned,
trigger-style switch that activates the
two-speed operation. This allows the
machines to accelerate to nearly 12 miles
per hour so operators can tackle large tasks
more quickly and more efficiently than the
competition.
Daily service is simple with the easy-tilt
ROPS and cab, and users can stay on the go
with the extended service interval for oil
changes—to 500 hours. Combined these
features significantly lower operating costs
for 400 Series skid steer models.
High productivity features
The new 400 Series lineup gives
customers the choice of radial-arm or
vertical-lift machines. Case skid steer
model numbers ending in zero signify radial
arm, and model numbers ending in five
signify vertical lift.
“Case IH customers can decide if they want
the kind of fast cycle times and quick
digging capabilities available on models
like the radial-arm 450 skid steer,”
Schaefer adds. “Or, if they are handling
hay bales, choose the industry’s highest
lift height, available on the 465 skid
steer.”
Schaefer also points out that many important
features, such as optional ride control and
hydraulic self-leveling, continue with the
new 400 Series.
More than 75 attachments are available for
400 Series skid steers, including augers,
brooms, backhoes, stump grinders, landscape
rakes, rockwheels, tree shears, scarifiers,
snowblowers, bale spikes, forks, buckets and
more.
