FARMALL built its legacy by combining versatility, performance and a functional design into a product package, which essentially drove the transition of American agriculture from the horse-drawn era to the mechanized agriculture we know today.

Those same elements that allowed FARMALL to prosper so many years ago – versatility, performance and design – are the building blocks used by Case IH to create the new D and DX Series FARMALL subcompact, compact and utility tractors being introduced today.

With 14 models ranging from 18-to-55 engine horsepower, and ranging in PTO horsepower from 13.7 to 47 PTO hp, and available with gear or hydrostatic transmissions, the FARMALL Series has a tractor for any task.

“The decision to bring back the FARMALL name made perfect sense because the D and DX Series lines more than live up to FARMALL’s reputation,” says Bill Frederick, product marketing and training manager for compact tractors, Case IH.  “Up and down the lineup, the products are extremely versatile, they efficiently deliver power where it’s needed and feature the most comfortable and user-friendly operators’ platform in its class.  It really is a super product.”

The right tractor, for the right job
Whether you’re a landowner with acreage to mow, or a commercial contractor with a large list of tasks to complete, the D and DX Series tractors have the features and attachments to handle your to-do list with ease.

For light-duty work and mowing, the two subcompact FARMALL models – DX18E and DX24E – offer nimble handling in a homeowner-friendly package.  From the 21 to 45 hp range, the 10 mid-range compact models are available in three different frame sizes to deliver the versatility in power and size for a wide range of applications.  The top-end horsepower utility models – the DX48 and DX55 – are at home on a full-time farming operation or on a landscaper or commercial operator’s job site.

Most FARMALL models feature rugged mechanical front-wheel drive (MFD) that can get you through those slippery spots or soft soil, with 50% less wheel spin.  High-capacity hydraulics deliver instant response and flow to meet the demands of loader or backhoe operations.  The three-point hitch lets you operate rotary cutters, box scrapers, blades, rakes, tillers, aerators, brooms and more, with ease.

“The available attachments are designed to work with the styling to enhance performance, visibility and operator safety, which also boosts productivity, “ adds Frederick.  “In addition, models equipped with the optional front loader Quick-Attach faceplate are compatible with skid-steer attachments.  So switching to loaders, buckets, bale spears and forks is simple to do, and builds efficiencies with an operator’s existing equipment.”

Built with the operator in mind
Controls are well labeled and easy-to-operate whether you’re a seasoned tractor operator or a first-time purchaser. With the hydrostatic transmission feature, FARMALL tractors provide clutch-free convenience and smooth variable speeds. Manual gear transmissions are available also.

Operator comfort is another key component built into the D and DX Series lineup. The modern sloped hood design provides outstanding operator visibility to the front and side of the operator’s work area, which translates into increased safety and productivity. The one-piece, flip-up hood feature allows for simple, convenient and quick routine service.

“Most new tractor purchases are driven by the subcompact, compact and utility market,” Frederick points out. “It represents 72 percent of all tractors sold in North America.  While operator comfort is a priority for the experienced operator, it’s even more critical for the inexperienced or first-time user, since approximately 75 percent of these units are purchased for non-farm applications.”

“The controls are easily accessible, and the seat swivels to allow safe, high-visibility operation of rear-mounted attachments like tillers, mowers and snow blowers,” he adds. “The forward visibility is second to none, with the distinctive curved boom loaders. The spacious operator deck assures easy entry and more than adequate leg room.”

The FARMALL Series tractor is backed by service and support from the professional staff at Case IH dealerships across the country. To review the basic specifications of the entire line of D and DX Series FARMALL tractors, contact your local Case IH dealer to find out which tractor best fits the demands of your operation.
